2005 Books

So; it's been a while. Come on in, have a seat. The only thing I have to talk about right now is the books I've read this year. The ones I recommend, the ones I think YOU'LL enjoy, are as follows:

  • Designing Great Beers, by Ray Daniels
  • Cannery Row, by John Steinbeck
  • Reporting Vietnam, Part One, from the Library of America
  • Reporting Vietnam, Part Two, from the Library of America
  • Cod, by Mark Kurlansky
  • The Ancestor’s Tale, by Richard Dawkins
  • The Animal Family, by Randall Jarrell

And here are the rest, in no particular order. Some of these are very good, but not as good as the ones listed above:

  • The System of the World, by Neal Stephenson

  • Naked Economics, by Charles Wheelan

  • The Moon is Down, by John Steinbeck

  • The Pearl, by John Steinbeck

  • East of Eden, by John Steinbeck

  • Eats, Shoots, & Leaves, by Lynne Truss

  • Harry Potter & the Half-Blood Prince, by J.K. Rowling

  • Travels with Samantha, by Philip Greenspun

  • Year's Best Science Fiction, 20th Ed., edited by Gardner Dozois

  • What Does It All Mean?, by Thomas Nagel

...and many of the Brewers' Publications Classic Beer Style Series:
  • Stout, by Michael Lewis
